Keeping up to date with employee and customers’ needs

It used to be that the only way of working out if a company or business was successful was by looking at the profit. Obviously this is still the case. However, there are other ways of looking into a company to work out if it is on a progressive path to success, or going downhill, long before the numbers start to add up.

Slowly companies seem to be adopting more and more methods of getting customer feedback. In the old days, it was either unwelcome or involved physically filling in some sort of questionnaire with very small print, with a small pencil. Now, you may be taken by surprise when you are paying for something and about to enter your pin number, by a question about the employee serving you. Or after some sort of service being politely asked to do a survey on an electric key pad, or being promised a reward of some sort for taking the time to fill one in online.

Often the letter writers of this world really only represent a small percentage of how people feel. Many stores have adopted a system that asks you questions while you are paying for your products. Other methods are by offering people a reward if they will simply answer a few questions online.

Another way companies can gain insight as to how they are doing is by regularly using employee surveys to understand just how the employees are feeling and how well they are doing. Staff surveys are non-threatening and a useful for way for companies to assess how well they are doing in relating to their employees and will give those insights into how to improve their employee performance.

There are whole packages of surveys that will not only feedback how employees are feeling but will also creatively assess employee talent and output in a way that does not feel like a test. These are the secrets in modern companies. Happy customers and happy employees equals success. There needs to be efficiency at every level of the business and every employee will benefit from feedback on their performance.
