Getting to the Top of the Search Engines: Article Marketing for Optimal Promotion
By Victor Krumm
One of the finest strategies to rank and promote a site is by utilising article submission sites. Article marketing is one of the critical strategies that has the advantage of being highly efficient, free and which also works well. In addition to sending more online traffic to an article marketer’s site, it will lead directly to a large in-flow of valuable one-way back links which often helps to improve the S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) and which, in turn, leads to better rankings in Google, Yahoo, and Bing’s Search Results.
These directories are large sites where folks can submit their articles at no charge. Online visitors to the directory can also take those articles and use them on their own blogs or websites provided that they leave all the content of the article untouched, including the article marketer’s resource box.
One reason which explains why article directories are so powerful is because they always increase visitors to your homepage by driving traffic through the article marketer’s resource box. They can also help the ranking of a site or blog in the search engines like Google. The reason article sites will help to improve rankings is because Google and the other search engines use the quantity and quality of back links to decide where a web page will appear in the Search Results.
There are , of course, other factors that the search engines consider when determining where a web page will rank. But, the number and quality of the back links to an online web page is sometimes the most important reason for that page’s position in the search results. That explains why professional web masters create lots of articles for directories.
It is important to understand where and how web masters get back links from articles.
The easiest answer is they get back links to their websites from their articles!
You see, every article submission site allows the article contributor to put a link of his or her choice into a resources box below every article.
Some article sites allow a writer to put in more than one back link but all directories allow at least one link. And some even allow a third link to be put into the body of the article.
Now, here’s the “trick” successful marketers use to maximize SEO with these back links. Each link is built around a highly targeted keyword that the marketer wants to promote. These keywords are called anchor text and consist of the keyword or close derivative.
Our recommendation for optimal article marketing promotion is to do these things:
1. Write (or outsource) an original, quality article of no less than 300 words ( five paragraphs or more ).
2. Use modern “spinning” technology to create unique versions based on that single ezine article.
3. Build an author’s resource box at the base of the article with links back to one or two pages of the site being promoted, using good keywords as anchor text.
4. Select the most relevant category in the directories for your article to be placed.
5. Broadcast, at the click of your mouse, different but similar in substance “spun” versions to large numbers of free directories and blogs using online article submission services offering automation.
6. Publish new articles really consistently.
You don’t need to be a web professional to get the results they do but you do have to do what they do to succeed.
One of the “secrets” most professional webmasters use to get to the top of Google is to consistently write a good quality ezine article, spin it into multiple unique versions using modern “spinning” technology, then broadcast these unique versions to tons of free article websites as a part of their regular website promotion strategy.
