It can be hard to find new ways to promote your website or business. Luckily, social media sites provide a new way to reach prospective customers. Here are some great ways to use social media to market your site or business, so that you thrive on and off the internet.

Blogging

Have your blog posts show directly on your LinkedIn page thanks to the blog feed application. You can post an article, and it will appear as LinkedIn updated. This will help you save time, and you should get more exposure by reaching out both to a blogging community and to your LinkedIn friends at the same time.

Blogging is a great example of social media marketing. Make sure that you take advantage of owning a blog to market your products and services to consumers. Post regularly on your blog so you can get exciting information out to the world, but also to remind people that you exist and so does your blog. People tend to forget about blogs that aren’t often updated as they lose interest and move on.

Twitter

When posting something on Twitter, add a tag. Tags appear after the symbol # and allow you to have your updates appear in the feeds of users who have subscribed to a group. Choose your tags wisely and look for groups that your target audience would be likely to subscribe to.

When writing a social media blog for your business, remember to add Twitter. You can easily place a retweet button at the top of your blog. This will allow Twitter users to easily share your blog on their site. Think of all the potential that one button can have on your marketing efforts.

Facebook

Link your social media sites together. Have links from each site you maintain to all the others as well. This way if a person who follows you on Twitter also has a Facebook page, they can find it and see you on both platforms. You can increase the amount of followers you have dramatically.

Interact with your customers by asking them to share their stories. You could, for instance, ask them to post on your Facebook wall about their best memory linked to one of your products, or simply tell a story unrelated to your industry. Select the best stories or pictures and feature them.

LinkedIn

Do not neglect LinkedIn. LinkedIn is less popular than Facebook or Twitter, but you can find extremely influential users on this site. Add a LinkedIn ‘share’ button on your articles, and chances are that someone who shares your content on LinkedIn will cause dozens of people to share it on other websites.

Take advantage of networking via LinkedIn. When you are on your LinkedIn, look for the option to place a link for websites or blogs to your account. You are able to do three, and you should make sure you use all three to market your other websites on your LinkedIn profile.

These suggestions are all designed to help increase the number of potential customers any business has. Social media marketing is an incredibly effective tool when used properly. Utilize those that are most applicable and you will notice a sharp increase in the number of people you have in your customer database.
