Probably the most money you will spend for a single day will be that for your wedding – the industry is worth almost 25.5 billion dollars annually and when a wedding has an average cost of approximately 25,000 dollars that’s perhaps not surprising. Organizing an enormous event like this when you are on a tight budget may seem an enormous task but it is possible; carried out properly, the majority of guests will not even realize they have attended a ‘cheap wedding’. There is a tendency to invite everyone you have ever known or is a member of the family but this is completely unrealistic and unnecessary; if you have a buffet instead of a four course meal, waiting staff will not be required either.

Other cost reductions can be made in where the wedding reception is held. It could take place in a friend’s house or a local club where money could be saved on beverages if they are supplied directly.

The Wedding Photographs

Although many photographers are employed for the entire day, this isn’t really necessary; the majority of guests are more than happy to take photos on behalf of the couple, and they will be ‘natural’ shots as well! Although it may sound like an unusual idea, you always have the option to not use a professional photographer at all. There is no reason why the photos can’t be taken by your guests and you will find yourself saving many hundreds if not thousands, of dollars.

Other areas where you can be assured of saving money is cheap wedding invitations and other wedding stationery. Today’s home computers and printers are able to provide near professional results. The quality of printers available combined with sophisticated programs means it is quite easy to make your own cheap wedding invitations if you have a mind to. In fact very professional looking results can be achieved on a home computer. Otherwise you may find some good cheap wedding supplies stores that stock some pretty cheap wedding invitations.

Flowers at the Wedding

If you want to reduce the cost of flowers, then how about this for an option; why not visit the local flower wholesaler where huge savings are possible, then all that’s needed is a little imagination when it comes to the display. Many people have friends who are very capable cooks and love to bake so why not let them bake a two or three tier wedding cake. This can be made from sponge or even a chocolate cake which tends to be favorite amongst people these days.

Transportation for the Wedding Day

One last money saving tip is too use the car of someone you know for the day, using this instead of a fancy limousine, you can almost guarantee they will be more than happy too.

Yes, it is possible to plan a less costly wedding without necessarily cutting back on the services, meaning that you can save money at the same time!

Weddings cost a lot, and economizing on your wedding gown can be hard. But cheap wedding dresses can be found, and are almost equivalent to choosing a wedding gown from a designer.
