Don’t Forget To Insure Your Tungsten Rings!

By Kimberly Jones

The beauty of a wonderfully crafted ring can be simply hypnotic. However, there are some important issues that you need to keep in mind. It is important to not to lose sight of the fact that your valuable rings may very well need insurance. Many people forget that the homeowner’s or renter’s insurance that they have might not provide enough coverage for one’s rings and jewelry. This is particularly true if you have a valuable collection.

Insurance policies always have their “ceilings” or limits. If you purchase a very valuable piece of jewelry, such as a valuable wedding ring or engagement ring, then you might want to look into carrying additional insurance. Homeowners and renters have often discovered too late that they unfortunately did not have enough coverage. Insurance companies will usually offer supplemental insurance policies to cover additional high-valued items such as jewelry or stamp collections. The majority of the time the cost is reasonable due to the fact that this supplemental policy is attached to an overall homeowner’s insurance or renter’s insurance policy.

There are three major factors you need to consider when it comes time to purchase your supplemental insurance for jewelry and rings. First is the reputation of the insurance company. A little bit of research can go a long way in terms of preventing future headaches if you ever do have an issue such as fire or theft. We’ve all head the stories about insurance companies that don’t want to live up to their end of the bargain. Sadly’ these stories are all to common for the insurance industry’ and this means you need to exercise an extra degree of caution when you are investigating insurance.

The main point to remember is that you most definitely should be certain that you are carrying enough insurance on your valuable rings and other jewelry. The research might take a little time, but once you have found a reliable insurance company to work with, you will not have to repeat the process anytime soon.

Once you have enough supplemental insurance to cover your rings, you will also have some additional peace of mind as well.
