In this technological age, envelopes may seem out of place, just like letters. There is e-mail, telephone and text. Do not be fooled into thinking they have no place, though. In fact, there is nothing quite like opening real letters found inside envelopes you can hold in your hand.

Unlike e-mail, their sizes vary greatly. Included among them are A4 for regular sized documents or legal forms for the longer, thinner sorts of paperwork. Fold your usual correspondence into a thin letter size on plain white, self-adhesive or moisture-adhesive product. Internal memos are often fastened with string.

Mail-off a delicate item in its own safe conveyance. Many products are padded. They feature an interior layer of bubble wrap glued to the paper for sending items than need a bit more protection.

Love letters and notes of special importance may be worth sending in very special coverings. Select matching paper with an envelope in one of many different hues and patterns. They may be themed according to the time of year or their purpose, such as the romantic sorts covered in hearts. Unlike computer correspondence, paper conveyance can hold things like lipstick kisses and the scent of special perfume. As long as the contents are not too personal, send them in transparent, vellum envelopes.

For a bit more glamor choose foil-lined sorts. These begin as a plain color but, when opened, feature that fabulous shine. Select those with windows. In conjunction with specially folded letters, these eliminate the need to add an address to the front as it shows through from the internal document.

Novelties include pre-stamped envelopes suitable for single sheets. These take away one job: lining-up for a stamp. Select a folding version which you write on at the center then carefully fold: letter, stamp and envelope all in one package. Save yourself even the effort of placing a return address on your correspondence by having them personalized.
